    some interesting statistics about savings in accidents, injury and fatal incidents resulting from moving to roundabouts. Also a cost calculation later in the video of the cost in fuel and productivity resulting from overuse of stop signs by traffic engineers.

    So there we have the safety argument FOR roundabouts. I understand that both traffic circles AND roundabouts pay a fuel dividend to each and every automobile using them. A documentary on this subject estimated huge savings. Will try to find the link and report back.
