Coatesville PA
Where Some Us Learned To Breathe Again

There was no intention to weep
no intention to a tear up
but right next to me
on a straw covered stool
in the Magnolia Café
Prince William and Princess street
on one of the clearest of blue sky
days
in Canada not the USA
the book THE Wall sat
taking be back..
the month of May
too soon will come Memorial Day.

Don’t hold your breath
breathe in and out breathe..

back then
the walk down the path was long
the air had a distinct chill
we’d come to THE Wall
a bus load traveled from the Medical Center
Coatesville, PA
the adjustment to life to learn how to breathe

Don’t hold your breath
breathe in and out breathe

the month of May
too soon will come Memorial Day
now my cappuccino has chilled
no one saw me weep
here on Prince William and Princess Street
back then in front of The Wall
I wept torrents miraculously pain left
I learned to breathe

Don’t hold your breath
breathe in and out breathe

on one of the clearest of blue sky
days
in Canada not the USA
I remember The Wall where I learned to breathe
in Coatesville, PA Memorial Day
