Our ex Mayor could not even be gracious in defeat. After conceding to Mel, who offered his thanks for Ivans long service, what did he do??
He returned to his – not very crowded – HQ and blamed his defeat on money spent by Mel’s campaign.
What a classless act.
With Mel winning almost 80% of the vote it is obvious to anyone that money had nothing to do with it.
What the Mayor seems unable to grasp is the reality that the electorate were sick of his bully boy tactics and ‘know it all’ attitude.
He just made things worse with his offensive comments after John Ferguson was cleared.
Quite frankly he just makes himself look more foolish with every statement he makes.
A brighter day just dawned and the citizens are rightly optimistic about the future again. lets hope the new Mayor & Councli are up to it.
My bet is that they are.
