I went to sleep this morning thinking about our City. (I know I need to find a job, toooo much time on my hands)
My blood is boiling over the fact that these fools want to close Somerset Community Centre to make payments to a pension fund none of these children will ever be a part of.
Would they dare try to close anything Upper West, Champlain Heights, Forest Hills or Millidgeville? No, yet they continue to cut much needed services in the North End. We have become easy targets. This has to stop, we pay taxes, yet we have the lowest quality of life.
To close a community centre and then talk about cancelling lifeguards at our public beaches.
What message does this send to our youth?
They don’t matter!
This is another form of child abuse, remember that on May 14! Vote for people willing to fight for us!!!
Ward 2 deserves better than what we are getting!!!
They all pay lip service to North End. Hold them accountable, NO more cuts to the low income neighborhoods!!!!
They call us priority neighborhoods, prove it!
Treat every neighborhood equally.
Stop catering to the squawkers.
We all have to do our part to save our City, but closing a community centre to save a couple hundred thousand dollars is not the answer.
How about going after the Somerset Daycare to start paying rent. Look for solutions to generate revenue, stop cutting!
